TFT displays and monitors are a specialised type of LCD screen that uses TFT (thin film transistors) technology to improve the quality of the image including contrast. This results in a display solution that is useful for many different demanding solutions including environments that require sunlight readability (high brightness TFT-LCD).
TFT and LCD are two commonly-used terms when describing display monitors, but they do have significant differences and thus different uses.
